Privacy Policy
Vyma is a mobile app that helps independent consultants, coaches, and freelancers remember what they've told their clients. This policy explains what data Vyma collects, who it's shared with, and how to request that it be deleted. Vyma is built and operated by a single independent developer, not a company.
What we collect
- Email address — optional for using Vyma, which works anonymously from first launch. An email is collected if you choose to link one (so your data survives a reinstall), and is required to make a purchase, so the purchase stays with your account.
- Captured voice and text transcripts — what you say or type when you log a client interaction.
- Structured data extracted from those transcripts — client names, project details, deadlines, and financial mentions (e.g. amounts owed), produced by AI extraction from what you captured.
- Device and push notification identifiers — used to deliver reminder notifications to your device.
- Basic usage and diagnostic data — structured server logs (timestamps, which function ran, error codes) used to keep the app working. These logs never contain your raw transcripts or any API key.
- Crash and error reports — when something goes wrong in the app, a report is sent containing the error, the screen it happened on, and your device and operating system version, so the problem can be found and fixed. These reports are deliberately configured to exclude your transcripts and client records.
Who we share data with
Vyma uses a small number of named third-party services to operate. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
- Anthropic — receives the raw text of your voice/text transcript, sent securely from our server, to extract structured details (client, project, deadline, financials) using their Claude AI model. Anthropic does not receive your email address or any other account information.
- Supabase — stores all of your data (client records, interactions, reminders, account information) and handles sign-in. Every record is isolated to your account at the database level, so it cannot be read by another user even through a malformed request.
- OneSignal — receives a device/push identifier so we can deliver reminder notifications for things you're due to follow up on.
- RevenueCat — receives purchase and subscription event data (e.g. that you started a trial or bought a capture pack) so we can manage your subscription status. Payment details themselves (card numbers, etc.) are handled entirely by Google Play, not by Vyma or RevenueCat.
- Sentry — receives crash and error reports when something goes wrong in the app, along with your device and operating system version and the anonymous identifier for your account. It is deliberately configured not to receive your transcripts, your client records, or your email address.
Security
All data sent to or from Vyma travels over encrypted HTTPS connections — nothing is sent in plain text. Data stored in our database is isolated per account using Row Level Security, enforced by the database itself, not just by app logic.
How long we keep your data
On the free tier, interaction history is kept for 30 days. Pro subscribers' history is kept for as long as their account exists. If you request account deletion (see below), your data is deleted rather than merely hidden.
Deleting your data
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data from the app (Settings → Account → Delete account & data), or by email if you no longer have the app. Deletion is permanent and completed within 30 days. Full instructions, including what gets deleted: Delete your Vyma account.
Children's privacy
Vyma is not directed at, or intended for use by, children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
No advertising
Vyma shows no ads and contains no third-party advertising or ad-tracking software. Your data is used only to operate the features you use directly.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above. We don't maintain a separate mailing list to announce changes.
